East Lake United Methodist Church (ELUMC), a welcoming congregation that seeks to love others like Jesus loves, has been deeply involved in outreach to the community for 136 years. Ministries have included food pantries, day cares, and partnerships with non-profits. ELUMC currently offers a food co-op, a monthly neighborhood free lunch, a grief support group, as well as many learning and fellowship groups. Worship is on Sundays at 9 and 11. Everyone is welcome. The length of time in community, the commitment to stay and work with the people currently in the community, and the tenure of its pastor (31 years) has built a strong level of trust. East Lake Farmers Market was implemented in response to the very limited availability of fresh produce. The market has grown to a thriving destination where neighborhood residents congregate to purchase fresh foods and share in community life.

Downstairs Diner The diner, located in the basement of East Lake UMC serves lunch from 11:00 – 1:00 Monday through Friday. Anyone over the age of 60 can eat for only $5.00. The Diner also offers catering and has baked goods available for order.

East Lake Pop-Up Markets offers market stops throughout the community for affordable fresh produce.

National Hook Up of Black Women

Health and Wellness Pantry ELUMC has partnered with other nonprofits to offer a health and wellness pantry to the surrounding communities. Personal hygiene products, such as deodorant, shampoo, soap toothpaste, toothbrushes and other products are shared with the community free of charge. The pantry is open 2 days a week, Monday and Thursday to accommodate our drop-in centers hours of operation.

ELUMC Recovery Drop-in Center is a safe, clean, sober and recovery focused environment for people to come together. It is led by volunteers who are in long term recovery, offering peer support to anyone who needs a safe supportive place. Assessment and referrals to other mental health and substance abuse providers administered by certified and licensed social workers and
